LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

Altar Servers

Altar Servers are parishoners who have been baptised and received their First Communion. Prospective server formation will include instruction on the Mass and its parts and their meaning, the various objects used in the liturgy (their names and use), and the various functions of the server during the Mass and other liturgical celebrations.

Servers carry the cross, the processional candles, hold the book for the priest celebrant when he is not at the altar, carry the incense and censer, present the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assist him when he receives the gifts from the people, wash the hands of the priest, assist the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.

Altar servers over the age of 18 must be certified by diocesan safe environment training.

Arts and Environment

Arts and Environment members are in charge of all of the beautiful decorations that appear in our church.

Catholic Charities

On the third weekend of the month, we have the Catholic Charities Truck in our East Parking Lot to collect donations for the Catholic Charities thrift store. We need volunteers before and after all Masses to help with collecting items.

Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers

The Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister assists the clergy with the distribution of Holy Communion so it may be distributed in a reverent and orderly manner. Prospective Eucharistic Minister formation will include instruction on proper, reverent handling of the Eucharist.

Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers must be certified by diocesan safe environment training.

Greeters

Greeters arrive prior to mass to greet new and returning parishoners nearby all entrances to the chapel and foyer. Visitors and parishoners should feel welcomed and at home through the kindness of our greeters.

Lectors

Lectors are parishoners who read from Sacred Scripture (with the exclusion of the Gospel). In the absence of a deacon, the lector may also announce intentions from the Prayers of the Faithful.

Music

Choir, Cantors, and Musicians are all an inmportant part in creating a beautiful atmosphere of prayer and praise during Mass.

Sound Technicians

The sound technicians are in charge of turning on and off the sound equipment for all Masses. They play an important role in making sure everyone in the chapel can hear the word of God.
