What is the Synod?
"This Synod is intended as a Synodal Process. The aim of this synodal process is not to provide a temporary or one-time experience of synodality, but rather to provide an opportunity for the entire People of God to discern together how to move forward on the path towards being a more synodal Church in the long-term."

Embracing life as it comes (A Prayer for the Synod)
Jesus, we see you in the Gospels
welcoming everyone who was close to you,
like the man with evil spirits or the man with the withered hand.
We see You walking with the disciples of Emmaus
or giving comfort to the widow
who has lost her only child.
You taught us to embrace life as it comes,
to focus on people,
no matter who they are or what they have experienced.
Give us your grace and your light
to imprint “your style” in the Church,
to understand the others as they are
to understand them from the depths of their hearts
beyond their words and actions.
May we be an open-hearted Church,
a Church that is receptive and walks with others.
Amen.
"[We are] a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges and encourages dialogue, a Church ever open to welcoming, like this Square with its open arms, all those who are in need of our charity, our presence, our readiness to dialogue and our love"
--Pope Leo XIV
